Deviled Eggs

In the heart of the Southern kitchen, simplicity and flavor come together to create dishes that are both comforting and satisfying. One of my favorites is Southern Style Deviled Eggs. Perfect for a quick appetizer or a leisurely weekend gathering, this recipe captures the essence of Southern cooking with a creamy, tangy finish.

Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
    1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
    Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Chopped chives or dill for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat, cover, and let the eggs sit for 10-12 minutes.
  3. Drain and cool the eggs under cold running water, then peel them.
  4. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks, placing them in a bowl.
  5. Mash the yolks with a fork and mix in mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites.
  7. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and chopped chives or dill, if desired.

Serve chilled and enjoy the Southern charm with every bite!
